Now Google will let strangers know your home address

That's right. If anyone types your full phone number (including area code) into the Google search window, they stand a very good chance of having your name, home address appear along with a very convenient(?) link to Mapquest so anyone can drive right to your door. There are certain circumstances where this won't work, including some unlisted numbers. But I would still think twice about letting anyone know your home phone number. Or, for that matter, announcing it on your answering machine to anyone who might call when you're away from the house.
