Spring, warm weather and bicycle reflecters

It's that time of year. We've turned the clock ahead and everyone is getting a little time to spend outside after dinner. It's the time when you should check your child's bicycle and riding gear to make sure that when they come riding home at the last minute when dusk is falling (like mine does every other night) they can be seen. Reflective tape on the back and sides of helmets is a good idea. (Us motorcycle riders have to do it). A strobe light on the front and back is also helpful. I recently picked up a light for my son and myself that can be placed in "strobe" mode and lets everyone on the road know we're around. Lights are available for wheel spokes or can be placed on the air valves and give and "funky" look that attracts an automobile driver's attention.

But lets face it: nothing beats your child (and you) following good safety rules when out riding.
